Fashion Color Care

Vivid hair colors are so fun & trendy right now but after you leave the salon you may be wondering, how do I care for these cool new colors?

First, let’s talk about washing.

Wash your hair as little as possible but when you do need to shampoo, use cold water to prevent color from fading.

Also, use a sulfate-free color extending shampoo & conditioner. Our personal favorite is Redken Color Extend Magnetics, which you can purchase in the salon or on our website through our online store.

Inevitably, these colors do start to fade anywhere between 2-6 weeks after your appointment, depending on the depth of your color. You’re going to want to reserve a refresh appointment for these colors every 4-6 weeks based on your washing cycle.

If you do need to stretch your appointments a little further out, we also sell an awesome product called Viral.

This is a color-depositing shampoo that will add some extra pigment to the hair to keep your hair bright & help you go longer between appointments. Be sure to still use the Redken Color Extend Magnetics for your first shampoo to really cleanse the hair & the Viral color-depositing shampoo for the second to refresh the color.
Another thing that can cause your color to fade is heat. Heat protection is a must have for any hot iron you use in your hair to protect the color & reduce fading. We love the Redken Iron Shape for all our hot tool needs. It’s light weight, add shine, protects heat up to 450 degrees & can be used the again the next day for restyling your hair.

We really hope these tips help keep your fashion colors looking fresh & fabulous! Remember if you have any questions, don’t hesitate
